Day 1 – Arrival Vientiane
Welcome to Vientiane, the capital city of Laos
Upon arrival at the International Wattay Airport. our guide and driver will be waiting at the airport to provide transport to the hotel for check in and the rest of you day is free day at leisure , Overnight in Vientiane .
Day 2 – Vientiane City Tour
This morning , embark on a half-day discovery tour of Vientiane’s hidden gems.
After breakfast at the hotel , Begin the tour at the serene Wat Sisaket, one of the most beautiful temples in the capital. Continue onwards to visit the nearby Wat Phra Keo, which is used as a religious museum, displaying a collection of both Lao and Khmer works of art. Also nearby, take note of the Presidential Palace (from the outside), which reflects the city’s colonial history. Next, visit COPE, an association working to help landmine victims. A visit to the center provides in-depth information about the history of the American/Vietnam war and the lasting impact of unexploded ordinances (UXO) in the area and the efforts underway to clear them. Continue to the Patuxay monument, Laos’ version of the Arc de Triomphe. Climb to the top for some sweeping panoramic views of the city below. The final stop of the tour will be the 16th century That Luang, the holiest site in Laos and Overnight in Vientiane .
Day 3 – Vientiane – Luang Prabang – by train
After breakfast, enjoy free time at leisure before transferring to the train station for your ride to Luang prabang is perhaps the best-preserved traditional city in Southeast Asia. The tranquility and charm of this town with its splendid natural scenery and cultural sights make it one of the most delightful places to visit in Laos. On arrival in Luang Prabang, our guide and driver will be waiting to provide transport to the hotel for check in , After checking in, enjoy free time at leisure at the hotel or exploring the town independently for the daily Night Market, where you can find a lovely selection of handmade textiles made by the local and hill tribe people surrounding Luang Prabang and Overnight in Luang Prabang
Day 4 - Luang Prabang City Tour
This morning, enjoy a half-day guided tour of Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Start the tour of the city with the old Royal Palace, now the National Museum and discover the history of Laos. Continue on foot to the Wat Mai, a temple famous for its bas-relief of gold, and the Wat Sensoukarahm, which has a beautiful dazzling golden facade. End the visit with Wat Xieng Thong, the most revered temple in Luang Prabang. Located at the end of the peninsula, near the Mekong, this temple was built in 1560 by King Setthathirat and is decorated with sculptures and mosaics then transfer back to your hotel , The remainder of the day is free at leisure for additional sight-seeing or relaxing in this charming city on your own arrangement and overnight in Luang Prabang.
Day 5 – Kong Si Water Fall
After breakfast visit Wat Visoun, the holiest temple of the city. Continue to Wat Aham followed by Wat That, where the ashes of King Sisavang Vong are interred inside the large central stupa then continue with a drive through the Luang Prabang countryside to Kuang Si Waterfalls, soaking in the rice fields, hills and small villages along the way Stop en-route to visit the unique Lao Buffalo Dairy Farm, a social enterprise that produces sustainable and delicious cheese while giving back to the community and environment. While the buffalo may be the stars here, there are also playful pigs, cheeky chickens and rollicking rabbits that are just as fun to interact with for the young and young at heart. Enjoy a homemade ice cream at the cafe before saying goodbye to the Buffaloes and the team.. Upon reaching Kuang Si Waterfall, relax and enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings. For the adventurous, it is possible to walk to the top of the falls where stunning views await. Beautiful pools await at the base of the falls, which are perfect for swimming, Enjoy a picnic lunch at Carpe Diem Restaurant, along the waterfalls. ( Note: when bathing please be respectful, wear a sarong and be careful not to show too much skin. )
There is an optional visit on the way back to the Bear Sanctuary run by Free The Bears Fund Inc. 23 Asiatic Black Bears live in the sanctuary, which were rescued from poaching. Return to Luang Prabang in time to climb the 328 stairs to the summit of Mt. Phousi for an amazing panoramic sunset. Afterwards, feel free to explore the nearby evening hill tribe market before returning to the hotel and Overnight in Luang Prabang .
Day 6 -Luang Prabang – Pakou Caves
After breakfast , Transfer to the boat pier . We then board a cruise upstream on the Mekong River, which also gives us a panaromic view of the tranquil countryside as well as an interesting visit to the mysterious of Pak Ou Caves, two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by pilgrims. After around 2hours, arrive at Ban Xang Hay, a village renowned for its traditional weaving and production of ‘Lao Lao’ rice wine. Immerse yourself in local life as you stroll through the village, jump back aboard your boat and continue to the Pak Ou Caves, carved into a cliffside at the meeting point of the Mekong and Nam Ou rivers. Follow your guide into the lower cave of Tham Ting, then climb the steps to the upper cave of Tham Phun. Marvel at the mind-boggling number of Buddha icons on display in Tham Phun – some 3,000 statues, ranging from a few inches tall to human-height and Enjoy your lunch at local restaurant .
As you explore the cave, learn more about the Buddhas from your guide and hear how the cave has become an important place of pilgrimage for local Buddhists.Back on the boat , set off toward Luang Prabang and stop along the way to explore the village Ban Xang Khong is famous for its weaving handicraft and Sa paper making and Finally, arrive back in Luang Prabang and the remains of your day is free at leisure , Overnight in Luang Prabang .
Day 7 – Departure
After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy the morning at leisure till the guide and driver will be available for the final airport transfer in accordance to the flight schedule.
